It is one of the schools of the Hong Kong Baptist University. The International College, the Department of Continuing and Professional Education, the Department of Nursing and the Department of Early Childhood and Basic Education offer full-time and part-time courses in different disciplines.

In addition to the postgraduate, bachelor's degree, associate degree, advanced diploma, diploma and certificate courses offered by the Hong Kong Baptist University, the College also co-organises non-local qualifications with overseas universities. In addition, the school has the first kindergarten in Hong Kong, a kindergarten attached to the University, which is a kindergarten affiliated to the Hong Kong Baptist University. It provides a teaching and research base for early childhood education.

The school operates in a self-financing manner. Apart from teaching at the campuses of Kowloon Tong and Shek Mun, it also provides three teaching centres for the working people along the MTR.
